BRIDGE #32 - BRUCE BROOK ROAD (TH#21)
APRIL 16th, 2002
PRESENT:
Selectmen: Piet van Loon
Absent: Jesse Anderson, Lynn Bedell, Gary Katz and Richard Marek.
Also Present: William A. Noyes, AOT District #2 Technician, Steve Zaluzney
of Zaluzney Construction, Doug Gurney of Gurney Bros., Jeff Marsden of
Bazin Bros., Mark Thompson of Daniels Construction, Jim Holler of F.W.
Whitcomb Construction, James Gray as Road Foreman and Doris Knechtel,
Administrative Assistant.
1. WM. NOYES, AOT
DISTRICT #2 TECHNICIAN, AND INVITED CONTRACTORS - DISCUSSION THE PLANS
FOR THE REPAIR WORK NEEDED FOR BRIDGE #32
Wm. Noyes discussed the needed repairs to Bridge #32 which was damaged
during the flood of July of 2000. He also supplied a copy of the preliminary
hydraulics study done by the Technical Services Division of VAOT.
Items to be considered for the construction of the bridge:
A. Utility pole #8A & 9 to be moved back to the location of brace
pole #9PB. (Utility company to be contacted)
B. Trees to be cut by the contractor in the northwesterly corner of Bruce
Brook Road (TH#21) and Sugar Road (PVT). (Bill Guenther to be contacted)
C. Width of bridge to be 24' face to face.
D. Faccia SSB guard rail to be used.
E. Deck of bridge to have membrane with the surface to be paved.
F. Road to be paved 75' each side of the bridge.
G. The sketch for stream alterations permit to include water detail later.
H. Road closure to be the responsibility of the contractor.
I. Property owners to be notified of the closure of the bridge when the
date for construction is known.
J. Design build bids for the replacement of Bridge #32 to be submitted
at the Board of Selectmen's meeting to be held of May 2nd at 7:00 p.m.
