MINUTES - EMERGENCY MEETING - NEWFANE SELECTBOARD
OCTOBER 9th, 2005
VT ROUTE 30/DEPOT ROAD (TH#2)

PRESENT:
Selectmen: Piet van Loon, Priscilla Cotton, Dan DeWalt, Patricia Halloran, and Gary Katz.
Also Present: David Cotton

1. CALL TO ORDER
The Board met in emergency session on call of the Chairman at the junction of Vermont Route 30 and Depot Road at 10:55 a.m.

2. REVIEW AND DISCUSSION OF FLOOD DAMAGE TO DEPOT ROAD (TH#2)
The Board viewed damage to a portion of a westbound land of Depot Road, adjacent to property owned by Herbert Wilcox. A slide, caused by heavy rains on October 8, broke out a section of pavement approximately four feet wide and fifty feet long.

The Board, on motion of Mr. Katz as seconded by Ms. Halloran, voted unanimously to close the section of Depot Road to all but local traffic until information is available to determine the next step.

3. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 11:25 a.m.

Mr. van Loon called the Brattleboro Reformer and radio stations WKVT and WTSA immediately after adjournment to inform them of the meeting and the action taken.
