Use of the current bridge by fire trucks and school busses is questionable due to weight restrictions and condition of the bridge.

Detour - Trucks required to use Baker Brook Road (TH#19), Beetlestone Hill Road (TH#47) and Parish Hill Road (TH#26) because of the covered bridge limitations. Bridges used on the route, Green Iron Bridge (BR#49) and BR#50. Use of BR#41 on Parish Hill Road (TH#26) is not to be used by trucks.

Cost of rehabilitation - $1,6 million from federal funds for historic covered bridges.
Cost to the town - $0
Rehabilitation scheduled for 2009. Temporary bridge to be installed, downstream during reconstruction of the bridge.

Detour - Trucks that are over the 40,000# weight limit and are above the height restriction will be required to use the same detour route as stated above.
