MINUTES OF THE NEWFANE SELECTBOARD
BUDGET MEETING
JANUARY 22, 2008
TOWN OFFICES
NEWFANE, VERMONT

PRESENT
Selectboard members: Joe Mandell, Dan Dewalt, Peter Rysz, Guy Wachtel
Also Present: Shannon Meckle, Administrative Assistant; Todd Lawley, Road Foreman; Ed Druke
The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Selectboard Chair, Joe Mandell

BUDGET
Peter Rysz made a motion at 4:10 p.m. Dan Dewalt seconded the motion. The board entered Executive Session at 4:10 p.m. for discussion the employment or evaluation of a public officer or employee.

Peter Rysz made a motion to come out of Executive Session at 4:30 p.m. Dan Dewalt seconded the motion. The board came out of Executive Session.

Dan Dewalt made a motion to have a letter drafted and signed by Joe Mandell to address unsatisfactory work evaluation and to establish terms for continued employment. Peter Rysz seconded the motion. The motion passed with three in favor, and Guy Wachtel abstaining, as he was not present for the entire discussion.
After this portion of the meeting, the board went over the revenue portion of the budget, and to finalize the expenditure portion of the budget.

Dan Dewalt made a motion to approve the final budget, subject to amending Leland & Gray’s figures. Peter Rysz seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Dan Dewalt made a motion to adjourn at 5:05 p.m. Peter Rysz seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
