PLANNING COMMISSION Meetings are held at the Town Office on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 7 PM

Minutes - Newfane Planning Commission, August 23, 2005, 7:00 p.m. Present: T. Bedell, J. Borta, J. Feifel, G. Garbe Guest: Zoning Administrator Rick Sullivan Absent: K. Robinson, J. Spencer 1. Co-Chairman GG called meeting to order at 7:04 2. Minutes of July 26, 2005 meeting read and approved. (4:0) (There was no meeting on 8/9 in the absence of a quorum.) 3. Updates from previous meetings: --Regarding the statistics for planning use, J. Borta suggested obtaining them from the Windham Regional Commission (WRC) and all were in agreement. -- Further discussion ensued regarding the computer system. R. Sullivan said he was on the verge of obtaining a new computer, and it was suggested that perhaps he could use the Planning Commission system, partitioned for safety, and that that would then solve the office space problem as well, since it would sit on R. Sullivan’s desk. But it was suggested that J. Spencer call Rick to discuss this. --T. Bedell reported that he had just received a box of material that had been in D. Clarkson’s possession, but that he hadn’t had time to go through it yet. 4. Zoning bylaws revision. T. Bedell reviewed the revisions to date, presumed final and sent earlier to Commission members. G. Garbe noted that the next step was establishing a hearing date, requiring a 30-day notice. The document would have to be available before the date is set. And it will have to be prepared showing all the changes that have been made. Add also, a Table of contents. R. Sullivan goes over some other suggestions, and he’ll work on some wording for some additional changes. 5. Was Chris Petrak going to serve on the board? According to G. Garbe, he had decided against it. 6. Review of correspondence. 7. Municipal Planning Grant. Review of a draft prepared by Sue Fillion of WRC, providing her with comments on the direction the grant was moving in. G. Garbe will return the draft with the answers suggested by the PC, and appear before the Selectboard regarding the grant at the September 1, 2005, meeting.
