PLANNING COMMISSION Meetings are held at the Town Office on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 7 PM

Minutes - Newfane Planning Commission, June 2, 2005, 7:00 pm Present: T. Bedell, D. Clarkson, J. Feifel, G. Garbe, J. Spencer, J. Borta, K. Robinson Guest: Sue Fillion, Planner, Windham Regional Commission. 1. Chairman Jim Spencer called meeting to order at 7:02 pm. 2. Sue Fillion had an extensive Memo/Review of the Newfane Zoning Bylaw based on Chapter 117 Changes. With an eye to making the necessary changes, the group goes over the memo point by point. SF notes that the bylaws don’t have to be in place by 9/1, but if they’re not, then the state regulations go into effect. Consequently, though she urged the PC to try and submit changes by 9/1, she also suggested not shortchanging discussion of the issues important to the Town. Bylaws can always be revisited, she noted, even every couple of months if necessary. Sue leaves pamphlet for Plan and Byline Adoption Rules and some material for DRB as well. 3. David Clarkson reported on PC meeting of Wardsboro that 26 people attended. Purpose was to discuss town plan. Meeting was complete with maps, slide show presentation, and refreshments. After a presentation the meeting had breakout small groups for further discussion. DC termed it an impressive meeting with a fine turnout. 4. David Clarkson noted an upcoming VLCT presentation on zoning and planning on Thursday, June 9. 5. Computer update. Jim Spencer said a further price on a similar system was significantly higher. Backup would be available with a CD/DVD writer. So the first choice will be the one, without the expense of a larger terminal. The group empowered the chair to inform the Selectboard of our plans, and to sound out the possibility of some office space. And those plans are: The PC intends to imminently purchase computer system built specifically for NPC built by Not Just Computer, LLC at a price of approximately $2,000, after investigation of an alternate system. For the time being, use of the computer will be limited to PC. Ultimately, the resources will be able to be shared by other town offices. 8.
